SHIPPENSBURG — After finishing in fifth place in the high jump in the 2024 PIAA Track & Field Championships, Ellwood City senior Delaney Sturgeon capped off her high school career with a bronze medal performance in the girls AA high jump while also finishing fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.
"With it being my senior year, I am really happy with my performance in the high jump," Sturgeon said. "I have been up on the podium every year and I am very proud."
Sturgeon who is a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and track put together a solid season in the high jump event also while making her mark in the 100-meter hurdles after receiving a bronze medal at the WPIAL Championships on May 14.
