Phillies bench coach erupts, gets ejected

Things got pretty tense between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. It was another one of those weird “unwritten rules” things involving Mets relief pitcher Hansel Robles that resulted in Phillies bench coach Larry Bowa getting tossed.

As of now, the whole thing doesn’t make too much sense, but here’s what we know so far. With Darin Ruf in the batter’s box, Robles sneaked quick pitch into home plate, which no one in the Phillies dugout was too pleased about– particularly Jeff Francouer and Larry Bowa.

Bowa charged out of the dugout to give home plate umpire Dan Bellino a piece of his mind, and was subsequently ejected.
