TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. — To pass the time before their third rounds of the P.G.A. Championship, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson dropped in at a local Life Time Fitness club on Saturday for a 90-minute cardio and weight workout. A few of the other patrons recognized Johnson, the world No. 1, and asked to pose with him for photographs, as Koepka stood to the side like so much dead weight.
Some people at the gym turned to Koepka and gushed about being in the presence of the No. 1 golfer in the world. “It’s like, ‘O.K., I don’t know what to say to that,’” Koepka said with a laugh.
