Panthers quarterback Cam Newton received a lot of backlash following Super Bowl 50, but Peyton Manning wasn't one of his many critics.
In an interview on the "Today" show Monday, the Broncos quarterback revealed his opponent was modest following Denver's 24-10 win over Carolina on Sunday and defended Newton despite his abrupt exit from his postgame media session.

"Sure, I tell you, Cam couldn't have been nicer to me," Manning said. "He was extremely humble.
