The New Orleans Pelicans have fired coach Monty Williams, a person familiar with the move told USA TODAY Sports.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the news hasn't been made public.
Williams had a record of 173-221 in five seasons with New Orleans. He was 2-8 in two playoffs appearances.
The Pelicans were swept by the top-seeded Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs this season.
