Oregon once again names former FCS quarterback as its starter

Oregon turned heads last year when it brought in a graduate transfer from an FCS school to be its starting quarterback.

It seems that's now a trend for the Pac-12 school. Graduate transfer Dakota Prukop will start Oregon's opener against UC Davis in Week 1.

Prukop, who started each of the last two seasons at Montana State, is the only quarterback on Oregon's roster who has actually played in a college football game. His backup is Justin Herbert, a true freshman.

"Dakota has been the most consistent so far and everybody else had kind of had their moments," Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said via OregonLive.
