News of a major College Football Playoff format change broke Thursday, and Oregon fans weren’t happy.
According to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, the 2025 CFP will shift to a straight seeding format, awarding first-round byes to the top four teams regardless of conference title status.
Conference champions will still receive automatic bids, but will be seeded based on ranking moving forward.
