Officer involved in Odell Beckham Jr.'s butt-slap incident does not want to pursue charges

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. might not be in trouble with the law after all. The officer involved in the butt-slap after Monday’s college football national championship game signed an affidavit saying he does not want to pursue charges, according to NOLA.com.

On top of that, the New Orleans Police Department rescinded a warrant for Beckham’s arrest. That was expected after the officer declined to pursue criminal charges.

The incident occurred following LSU’s victory over Clemson. Beckham, who attended LSU before going pro, was celebrating with players in the locker room when a Superdome police officer told players they could not smoke cigars.
