Tommy Hayden, the brother of the late Nicky Hayden, has issued a statement from the family following the passing of the 2006 MotoGP World Champion.
Nicky Hayden passed away on Monday after he was struck by a car while training on his bicycle on the Rimini coast in Italy on Wednesday.
The Bufalini Hospital in Cesena released a medical bulletin on Monday announcing the death, having said last week that Hayden had severe cerebral damage and multiple traumatic injuries.
Tommy Hayden’s statement read:
“On behalf of the whole Hayden family and Nicky’s fiancée Jackie I would like to thank everyone for their messages of support – it has been a great comfort to us all knowing that Nicky has touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way.
