N.H.L. Roundup: Islanders Rebound With Three-Goal Surge in Home Win

After a bad road loss two nights earlier, the Islanders were glad to return home and get back to winning.

Brock Nelson had a goal and an assist in a three-goal second period, and the Islanders beat the Detroit Red Wings, 4-1, on Monday at Barclays Center. The win was the Islanders’ fourth straight at home, and they outscored opponents by 22-7 during that stretch.

Josh Bailey, Marek Zidlicky and Ryan Strome also scored to help the Islanders win for the fourth time in five games over all and rebound after a 6-3 loss at Carolina on Saturday.
