The Falcons seemed to have remembered where their bread was buttered, riding Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones for 75 yards and getting to New England’s 1-yard line. But on 4th-and-goal from the 1, they decided to get fancy and sent Taylor Gabriel, a wide receiver, around the right edge rather than having Freeman or Tevin Coleman run up the middle. Gabriel was knocked for a five-yard loss that turned the ball over on downs, thus maintaining New England’s 20-0 lead.
