NFL Rumors: Jared Goff Expected to Land $45M-$50M per Year on New Lions Contract

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is entering the final year of his contract, but the team is reportedly planning to reward him in a big way this offseason.

During an appearance on SportsCenter on Sunday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Goff is expected to receive a contract extension worth $45-50 million annually. Fowler noted that while there is mutual interest between the two sides, the deal still needs to be ironed out.

"He wants to be there. Only 29 years old, due to make about $28 million this year, so he's going to have to be in that threshold of $45- maybe even $50 million a year based on the way he's played.
