Giants Coach Tom Coughlin had a telephone conversation Friday afternoon with Jason Pierre-Paul, the Giants’ defensive end who has stayed away from the team’s training camp after a serious fireworks accident on the Fourth of July weekend. Coughlin said Pierre-Paul, whose right index finger was amputated, did not indicate when he planned to rejoin the team, but it did not sound as if it would be soon.
Coughlin said he had a pleasant conversation with Pierre-Paul, then added: “Do I know any more than I did before? No. Do I know when he’s coming?
