N.F.L. Roundup: Josh McCown Retains Edge Over Johnny Manziel

Browns quarterback Josh McCown will not miss any practice time after injuring his right ring finger in Thursday night’s exhibition loss to Buffalo.

McCown had X-rays taken after the game, and he was examined Friday by Cleveland’s medical staff. Browns Coach Mike Pettine said McCown was “good to go.”

McCown started against the Bills and threw two interceptions on his first two drives. He rebounded by leading the Browns to a field goal late in the first half.

Johnny Manziel, McCown’s backup, tossed a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, and he has shown improvement in preparation for his second season.
