The NFL playoffs could have a different look this year if the Detroit Lions have their way. NFL owners will vote this week on a proposal the Lions submitted that would change playoff seeding.
The Lions' updated proposal would not guarantee division winners a home game in the first round of the playoffs. Their proposal would seed teams in the postseason strictly by record.
That would have impacted the playoffs last season, as the 14-win Minnesota Vikings ended up as a wild card team and had to play on the road against the Los Angeles Rams.
