Los Angeles (AFP) - It was a bone and brain jarring opening Sunday in the NFL as the first full day of 2015 saw a spate of concussions, including a scary injury to New York Jets rookie Lorenzo Mauldin.

Jets coach Todd Bowles acknowledged after his team's 31-10 win over the Cleveland Browns that he was "very worried" about the injuries that sent Mauldin to the hospital after he was caught under a pile of players during a scramble for a loose ball.
