N.C.A.A. Women’s Basketball: Final Four

As Paige Bueckers starts in the national championship game, it is important to remember it has been just and two and a half months since she had major knee surgery.

Bueckers, UConn’s star player, got up limping after a couple of collisions in the team’s semifinal victory over Stanford on Friday night. But she said the pain was only momentary and won’t affect her play against South Carolina.

Bueckers shrugged off any questions about injury or nerves on Saturday.

“Some things, like what happened last night, are more of an in-the-moment type of pain and you can just shake it off,” Bueckers said.
