Looking to add some veteran leadership in the locker room, the Philadelphia 76ers, the team with the worst record in the N.B.A., signed forward Elton Brand.
Brand, a two-time All-Star, was the first overall pick in the 1999 draft by the Chicago Bulls and won the Rookie of the Year Award.
Brand has played 16 seasons in the N.B.A., most recently two seasons with the Hawks from 2013 to 2015. He has appeared in 1,041 N.B.A. games and made 867 starts, posting averages of 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks per game.
