N.B.A. Roundup: Pacers’ Top Draft Pick to Miss 4 Weeks

The Indiana Pacers expect the rookie center Myles Turner to miss at least four weeks with a chip fracture in his left thumb.

Turner was injured in a victory at Boston on Wednesday. Team officials made the announcement Thursday and said Turner was consulting with the medical staff about what to do next.

Turner, 19, the No. 11 overall selection in June’s draft, has averaged 6.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 15.9 minutes in eight games.

Without Turner, the Pacers (5-4) could give extra minutes to Chase Budinger, Glenn Robinson III, Lavoy Allen or Solomon Hill.
