N.B.A. Roundup: Nets Edge Past the Pistons With a Late Surge

Thaddeus Young had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Brook Lopez scored 15 points, and the Nets beat the Detroit Pistons, 87-83, on Sunday night in Barclays Center.

Wayne Ellington had a season-high 12 points for the Nets, who improved to 4-13.

Lopez made a tiebreaking free throw with 29 seconds left, and the Nets scored the final 6 points after trailing by 2 with 1 minute 21 seconds remaining.

“We definitely had to grind it out,” Lopez said. “We stuck with it, though, and our bench definitely gave us good minutes.”

Andre Drummond recorded his league-leading 15th double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds, but Detroit fell to 8-9.
