(Reuters) - A federal judge gave final approval on Wednesday for the settlement of a lawsuit against the National Football League (NFL) brought by former players over concussions, according to court documents.
The settlement includes allowing for monetary awards of up to $5 million for serious medical conditions associated with repeated head trauma, according to the ruling. Judge Anita Brody, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, also granted a motion for class certification.
