NASCAR unveils series of kid-friendly initiatives to educate, entertain fans

NASCAR is aiming to attract and educate a new generation of fans.

Throughout this week, Kids Drive NASCAR will feature news, events and social content geared toward kids and helping them learn about the sport in the days leading up to the races at Michigan International Speedway and Road America. Included in that is the launch of the Acceleration Nation app with racing-themed games and activities. And in 2017, kids 12 and younger will get in free to all NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck series races.

Karsyn Elledge, the granddaughter of Dale Earnhardt and daughter of Kelley Earnhardt Miller who hosts Nickelodeon’s NASCAR Hammer Down show, announced the initiative through a kids-only news conference streamed on Facebook Live earlier this week.
