WASHINGTON — Zack Greinke moved his name past teammate Clayton Kershaw and closer to Los Angeles Dodgers legends Orel Hershiser and Don Drysdale.
He pitched eight scoreless innings Sunday against the Washington Nationals and has now pitched 43 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, trailing only Hershiser's 59 in 1988 and Drysdale's 58 in franchise history.
Hershiser and Drysdale's streaks rank 1-2 in Major League Baseball history, but Greinke is in position to move past them both in just two more starts. And with another four outs, he'll move past R.A. Dickey's 44 2/3 scoreless innings in 2012 and move into 10th place on the all-time list.
