MMQB: Jets Aware of Aaron Rodgers Trade Implications with Nathaniel Hackett as OC

The New York Jets reportedly knew hiring offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett could help in their pursuit of Aaron Rodgers.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated's The MMQB noted Hackett's connection to Rodgers as the former offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers wasn't the reason for the hiring. However, he added that head coach "Robert Saleh and the team's decision-makers were very aware of the implication hiring the former Broncos coach would bring—and they aren't shying from it."

On Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Green Bay "prefers to move on from Rodgers" this offseason.
