The Montreal Impact and D.C. United booked their spots in the MLS Playoffs with their results on Sunday, the league's penultimate matchday. The New York Red Bulls, NYCFC and Toronto had already clinched a playoff spot entering the day.
D.C. took care of NYCFC 3-1 to win its fourth game in a row and stretch its unbeaten streak to six games, as Patrick Mullins, Bobby Boswell and Rob Vincent all scored in the first half.
Montreal, meanwhile, earned a 2-2 draw against Toronto that was enough to secure a playoff berth, with Argentine Ignacio Piatti scoring twice.
