SAN DIEGO — Michael Saunders may not have heard the controversial rendition of “O Canada” at the All-Star Game on Tuesday night, but you can bet that the Blue Jays outfielder is going to get an earful now.
Performing before the Midsummer Classic with The Tenors, who booted him from the group before the night was over, Remigio Pereira changed the lyrics of Canada’s national anthem from “With glowing hearts we see the rise/The True North strong and free” to “We’re brothers and sisters, all lives matter to the great.” In addition, Pereira held up a placard reading “ALL LIVES MATTER.
