The rap group Migos can be credited with the dab celebration you see many athletes doing, most prominently displayed by NFL MVP Cam Newton.
The Panthers quarterback kind of started the trend in sports, and it became an identity of the team. Carolina players dabbed on first downs, touchdowns and in team photos. So naturally, Migos felt a connection with the Panthers and Newton. After all, the group is based in Atlanta, the city where Newton was born.
