One college football analyst has Michigan State as an upper half power four team, and higher than you may expect following spring practice.
Many college football analysts have released power rankings following the conclusion of spring practice and the spring transfer portal -- that included popular social media account CFBudge. He released his "Post-Spring Power Conference Top 70" -- which also included Notre Dame, Oregon State and Washington State -- and he has the Spartans surprisingly higher than expected. In CFBudge's rankings, Michigan State was listed at No. 35 -- which is right on the line of the upper half of the power 70 programs.
