MIAMI — Terry Collins was trying to ignore the widespread attention the Mets were receiving as they surged into first place in the National League East with an invigorated offense and stout pitching.
So Collins grabbed a remote control and turned off a television that was playing a show from MLB Network inside his office. Next up on the program was a segment titled “Bryce Harper on the Mets.”
But Collins had a problem.
“I can turn the TVs off, but they go right back on,” he said. “I’ve turned this TV off 15 times today; keeps coming back on.
