Mets 3, Blue Jays 2: Matt Harvey Breaks Out of Slump With Commanding Performance

Matt Harvey had performed like a mere mortal in recent starts, allowing three home runs his last time out while posting a 1-3 record with a 7.20 E.R.A. over his last four outings.

On Tuesday, Harvey proved that he was still fully capable of perplexing the opposition, bouncing back to shut out the Toronto Blue Jays for seven innings, as the Mets won, 3-2, at Citi Field.

Harvey was sharp from the onset, lighting up the radar gun with 99-mile-per-hour fastballs and allowing only one hit in the first four innings.
