ATLANTA — Daniel Murphy shook his head, muttered something to himself and kicked the dirt near second base, seemingly trying to forget the last play. Freddie Freeman had driven a hard-hit ball that had taken a high bounce just in front of him, and Murphy had turned and held out his glove backhanded, trying to snatch the ball out of the air. But it screamed past him.
The Braves scored six of their seven runs Sunday thanks in part to defensive miscues by the Mets. Juan Uribe made a fielding error at third base.
