Men’s Roundup: West Virginia Knocks Off Top-Ranked Kansas

Jaysean Paige scored 26 points, Devin Williams had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 11 West Virginia upset top-ranked Kansas, 74-63, on Tuesday night in Morgantown, W.Va.

West Virginia (15-1, 4-0 Big 12) is off to its best start in more than 30 years.

Perry Ellis scored 21 points for Kansas (14-2, 3-1), which committed a season-high 22 turnovers and was held to its lowest point total of the season.

West Virginia led by 39-27 at halftime and never let the Jayhawks get closer than 6 in the second half.

West Virginia fans stormed the court and sang the John Denver song “Take Me Home, Country Roads” after the Mountaineers’ first win over a top-ranked team in 33 years.
