Matt DiBenedetto's 2016 Sprint Cup season peaked in April when he finished sixth at Bristol. It reached its nadir this weekend at Texas.
DiBenedetto won't drive in Sunday's AAA Texas 500, replaced by Jeffrey Earnhardt. Reason: DiBenedetto has a concussion from a crash in Saturday's Xfinity Series race.
Earnhardt will start from 40th place because he didn't qualify in the car.
DiBenedetto's injury came when his car his car hit the call on Lap 129 of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas. He was taken to the infield car center for observation per NASCAR standards.
