Marv Hubbard, a bruising fullback who made three Pro Bowls in the early 1970s for the Oakland Raiders, died on Monday in Livermore, Calif. He was 68.
His wife of 49 years, Virginia, told the Bay Area News Group that Hubbard had had a long bout with prostate cancer.
Hubbard, who was listed at 6 feet 1 inch and 226 pounds, played in 90 games for the Raiders from 1969 to 1975. He also played one season with the Detroit Lions. He rushed for 4,544 yards and 23 touchdowns in his career. He also caught 85 passes for 628 yards and a score.
