Marlins 6, Mets 5 (11 Innings): On a Seesaw Night, Mets Teeter, Rally, Then Fall

MIAMI — On Friday, the Mets fell behind early, took the lead late, lost it, then tied the score when they were down to their final out.

This all happened before the 11th inning, when Martin Prado sprayed his fifth hit of game into right field to score Christian Yelich and left the Mets with a 6-5 loss at Marlins Park. Eric O’Flaherty, who has struggled since the Mets acquired him last month, gave up the winning hit.

For the Mets, who now lead the Washington Nationals by five games in the National League East, quiet moments are rare, especially this season, and especially during the past two months.
