Marcus Vick was arrested Sunday and charged with assault in an incident involving a police officer.
According to court documents obtained by WAVY television, Vick was confronted by an officer at a Newport News, Va., fitness center Sunday over an outstanding warrant on a contempt-of-court charge. VIck allegedly tried to run from the officer, then pushed him into a countertop before being caught after a brief foot chase.

Online records show Vick was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, destruction of property and assault-hate crime, but a police spokesman told WAVY the latter charge — a felony — was actually assault on a law enforcement officer.
