Manny Pacquiao revealed he overcame a checkered past of drug use before becoming a boxing champion.

In speaking with reporters about Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte and his plan to crack down on drug dealers, the Filipino icon and senator admitted to using unnamed drugs.

“I have tried drugs before, and then I realized it’s not good for the body," Pacquiao said Thursday, via Reuters. "I accept it, I cannot deny it, that was before, and that’s [why] I strongly support the president, that he fights illegal drugs."
