The newest version of the 'FIFA' video game series won't have Lionel Messi on the cover. On Tuesday, EA Sports announced that a vote will be held to decide the new cover athlete for 'FIFA 17', and the options are Manchester United's Anthony Martial, Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.

The official cover will be revealed in late July, and the game will be released in September.

Messi had been on the cover since FIFA 13.
