HOUSTON — Bryce Harper has created a lot of noise with his bat this postseason and Philadelphia hit a record five home runs in Game 3, but for the most part Houston’s pitching staff is absolutely flummoxing Philadelphia batters.
The Phillies are hitting .174 through five games. Their on-base percentage is a paltry .272. They are striking out 37 percent of the time, with 59 whiffs in 161 at-bats.
And perhaps most glaring, the Phillies are 5 for 29 with runners in scoring position in this series (.172) … and 1 for 19 (.053) since Game 1.
