The Detroit Lions are in favor of keeping the "tush push" in the NFL, for now.
The Lions are one of 10 teams to vote against banning the less-than-secret sauce of the Philadelphia Eagles of the last few seasons. The league needed 24 votes to pass the ban.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Lions as well as the Ravens, Patriots, and Jets were among the votes against. The Green Bay Packers are the franchise that proposed the ban for the upcoming season. The Packers' most recent proposal suggested banning the play by way of not allowing an offensive player to "push or pull a runner in any direction at any time or lift him to his feet.
