Northampton rising star Henry Pollock is the most eye-catching inclusion in Andy Farrell’s Lions squad which has no place for fly halves Sam Prendergast or Owen Farrell.
Farrell senior, the head coach, has pick Scotland’s Finn Russell and the English pair of Fin Smith and Marcus Smith as his three fly halves in a 38-man squad to tour Australia this summer.
Pollock only made his debut for England in the final round of the Six Nations matches against Wales, scoring two tries after coming on as a replacement. However, the 20-year-old has continued to deliver eye-catching performances, not least in Northampton’s 37-34 defeat of Leinster in the Champions Cup semi-final.
