Lando Norris wins incident-riddled sprint race in Miami

Lando Norris won a chaotic sprint race as wet weather wreaked havoc in Miami, with crashes and drama by the bucket load.

Norris profited from the chaos to win from McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton third after a late safety car which came out following a heavy crash by Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso.

Piastri had looked set to extend his lead in the championship until that point, having managed to pass Mercedes’ pole-sitter Kimi Antonelli right at the start of the race.

The Italian, the youngest pole-sitter in Formula 1 history at 18 years of age, complained that he had been forced off the track.
