Kyle Busch's Xfinity car gets pre-race repairs; blame it on a hammer

Kyle Busch didn't drive Sunday's Xfinity Series race at Dover, and replacement Drew Herring got onto the track late.

Turns out, Herring's car needed a late repair — after a crewman put a hole in the rear window.

NASCAR inspectors found something they didn't like on the No. 18 car, according to media reports. And while pounding on the car to fix the problem, a hammer hit the wrong place.

That force Kyle Busch Motorsports to sent the car back to the garage for repairs. So when the field fired engines, Herring was sitting in his car while the busted window was replaced.
