Kristaps Porzingis, Knicks’ Top Draft Pick, Is Set for Summer League Debut

LAS VEGAS — Kristaps Porzingis, two weeks into his tenure with the Knicks, said he was looking forward to making his summer league debut here on Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs. After straining his hip in a predraft workout, Porzingis said he felt healthy. But he was still grappling with unknowns.

“This is going to be the first time I showcase myself in the U.S.A.,” said Porzingis, a Latvian who was the fourth overall pick in last month’s N.B.A. draft. “So for me, it’s exciting. I want to get out there. I want to play, and I want to compete against those guys just to check myself: How good am I in this league?
