Kraft: 'I was wrong to put my faith in the league'

Less than 24 hours after learning his three-time Super Bowl-MVP quarterback was still scheduled to miss the first four games of the 2015 season, New England Patriots coach owner Robert Kraft blistered the NFL in a prepared statement as his team reported to training camp.

Facing a media throng Wednesday, Kraft said, "I was wrong to put my faith in the league," and apologized repeatedly to the team's fans for accepting the "harshest penalty in history of NFL" in hopes of exonerating Tom Brady.

"The decision handed down by the league yesterday is unfathomable to me," Kraft began, adding the NFL "still has no hard evidence" that Brady conspired to deflate footballs in January's AFC Championship Game.
