Phil Jackson, the president of the Knicks, has been clear about his priorities in free agency: size, size and size.
“We’re going to have to search out some big men,” he said in a recent interview.
The chase will begin in earnest Wednesday, the start of N.B.A. free agency and a key stretch in Jackson’s tenure atop this long-suffering organization. He finally has money to spend (more than $26 million) and roster spots to fill (only four players remain under contract from last season) as the team seeks an overhaul after losing 65 games.
