Kevin Love’s Season Is Likely Over, Cavaliers Say

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love will probably miss the remainder of the postseason with “extensive” damage to his left shoulder.

General Manager David Griffin said Tuesday that the team was not expecting Love to return in the playoffs, one day after Cleveland announced he would miss at least the next playoff series.

Love was injured in Sunday’s series-sweeping win over Boston when he became tangled with Celtics center Kelly Olynyk while chasing a loose ball.

Griffin said it would be a “real surprise” if Love was able to participate in the postseason.

Love may need surgery, and Griffin said he was still receiving medical opinions.
