In his press conference during draft weekend, Kansas City Chiefs Southwest Regional Scout Jason Lamb revealed the front office’s reasons for trading up to select seventh-round draft pick Brashard Smith.
“He’s (Brashard Smith) an explosive athlete. You see the quickness, you see the speed, I mean, running a 4.3 (40-yard dash),” said Lamb, “Just his overall athleticism and the dynamic ability he brings playing – being a former receiver, playing running back for the first time. This guy, when he gets the ball in his hands, he makes big plays happen, so it’s a lot of fun to watch.
