RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane said he heard from San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick last week after Lane sat during the national anthem prior to the team's fourth preseason game.
"He reached out to me and just told me thank you, standing behind me," Lane said.
Lane's decision came less than a week after Kaepernick first sat in protest of American racial injustice and minority oppression.
Lane said that he plans to continue to sit going forward.
