Serie A club Juventus announced that Italian defender Daniele Rugani has tested positive for coronavirus. In a statement, the team said Rugani is "currently asymptomatic."
Italy has been under lockdown as the country tries to control the rapid spread of the virus, also known as COVID-19.
The spread of coronavirus has had a drastic impact across the sports world, with many events being held without fans, postponed or outright cancelled. All sporting events in Italy have been suspended until at least April 3, marking the first time Serie A has been cancelled since World War II.
